Baltimore Ravens vs Atlanta Falcons prediction and recent form
Baltimore arrives in Atlanta as the better team on paper, but the most important name on the Ravens' injury report is Lamar Jackson's. He left the win over Tennessee at halftime with a left ankle injury and was seen in a walking boot. Coach Jesse Minter said Monday that he doesn't yet know the chances of Jackson playing. The Falcons have also been playing with more life since Michael Penix Jr. returned, so this is a tighter Sunday-night game than the price implied when it first opened.
The line has already responded. Baltimore opened around a short favorite and the market has been moving toward Atlanta on the injury news. An early moneyline of Ravens -192 and Falcons +160 reflected a healthy Jackson. If he sits, that price looks too rich. Our forecast assumes Jackson plays, and it only narrowly favors the Ravens.
Baltimore's recent form is solid without being dominant. The 24-18 win over the Titans was closer than a team with this much talent would like. Jackson had 222 passing yards, two touchdowns and 20 rushing yards before he left. Tyler Huntley came in and went 8-of-9 for 63 yards, which is a reasonable sign but a small sample. The Ravens have also played well without Jackson before, going 2-2 in his absences in 2025, though the all-time record without him is 6-11. One half of backup play should not move the forecast much either way.
Head-to-head and tactical matchup
The decisive matchup is Baltimore's offense against Atlanta's ability to keep Jackson in the pocket. When Jackson is healthy, the Falcons' pass rush has to stay disciplined in its lanes, because any rusher who overruns the quarterback turns a sack into a long scramble. A bad ankle matters more here than anywhere else. If he is limited, the designed quarterback run game shrinks and Baltimore leans harder on its backs and play-action. That makes the offense more predictable and takes away the explosive plays that usually decide close games. Penix, in contrast, needs clean early-down work to stay out of third-and-long, where the Ravens' defense is most dangerous.
Several other injuries bear on the game. Baltimore lists receiver Chris Moore, tackle Ronnie Stanley, tight end Durham Smythe and Trey Hendrickson as questionable. Hendrickson's finger is the one to watch, because his pass rush is a big part of why the Ravens can pressure Penix without blitzing. Atlanta is watching tackle Jake Matthews' groin and Za'Darius Smith's concussion. If Matthews is out, that is a direct problem against Baltimore's front. Weather shouldn't matter. Mercedes-Benz Stadium is a roofed building with a FieldTurf surface, which favors timing and speed and removes wind as a kicking factor.
Our numbers have the Ravens winning by about two points, with a total just under 46. That is a narrow edge, and the confidence sits mainly in the pick, not in the margin. Baltimore has the stronger roster and a defense suited to a young quarterback. Atlanta has the home field, momentum with Penix, and a real chance to cover or win if Jackson is compromised. With the spread and total both tied to Jackson's status and moving, there isn't a position on either at the current numbers.
